Andrew Fuentes

With twenty years of restaurant experience, service director Andrew Fuentes bring a four-star background to Alfred’s. Having grown up in the Bay Area, he realized early on that he had a passion for sports, food and people that translated well to the teamwork required in the hospitality industry. After a few years in the casual dining sector, he began his fine dining career at Bradley Ogden’s Lark Creek Inn.

 Andrew Fuentes brings 20 years of restaurant experience to the role of Service Director at Alfred’s Steakhouse in San Francisco. Growing up in the East Bay and then Marin County, early on he realized that he had a passion for sports, food, and people. Thus drawing him into a lifelong career in the food service industry. His fine dining career began with Bradley Ogden’s Lark Creek Inn in Larkspur, Ca. in 2002. Beginning as a lunch server and ending as the Banquet Captain.

Then, in late 2003, he landed a coveted spot at the once 2 Michelin starred AQUA, where he spent 7 years. Beginning as a server, and ending as the 1st Floor Captain in the history of the restaurant. There he learned the finer points of fine dining service from Jean Claude Persais (formed DOO), and Karim Goedouar (Former GM and current Service Director of Daniel in NY). In 2009 Andrew took a Captain position at 2 Michelin Star, Cyrus, in the Sonoma Valley. There he met one of his mentor’s Nicholas Peyton (Former GM/Owner Cyrus, and opening GM @ Gary Danko) and expanded his knowledge of wine under the instruction of Kevin Reilly (Master Sommelier). In 2011 Andrew moved to California’s other wine Country, Napa Valley, and the 3 Michelin starred, The Restaurant at Meadowood. After 3 months ascended to the position of Lead Captain and raised his level of service to new heights under the leadership of Nathaniel Dorn (Restaurant Director). The Restaurant at Meadowood received the James Beard Award for Outstanding Service in 2014, his final year at the prestigious establishment. In 2014, Andrew moved back to the East Bay and pursued employment in San Francisco once again. He signed on with, 2 Michelin starred Coi, of the Daniel Paterson Group, as a Captain. After only 3 months was the Lead/Training Captain. Further increasing his wine knowledge under Then in May of 2016, the desire to make his own mark in the world of service became too strong to resist. He assumed the position of Service Director at the legendary Alfred’s Steakhouse in San Francisco, also of the Daniel Patterson Group.

Andrew lives with his wife, Sarah, and twins Calvin and Caitlin, in the East Bay.
