After creating the opening beverage program at Mason Pacific in 2013, Eric Railsback is returning to the restaurant as Beverage Director. Eric has a strong connection to and passion for the wines of France. Fluent in French and having worked harvests all over Europe, Eric brought his talents to San Francisco’s RN74, where led a team of sommeliers for over three years. Eric is a partner in Santa Barbara’s Lieu Dit winery, focusing solely on the varieties indigenous to the Loire Valley, now grown in Santa Barbara County. Lieu Dit centers on Sauvignon Blanc and more limited bottlings of Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Rose and produces around 2500 cases annually. Eric’s emergence in the wine industry began taking shape in Santa Barbara nearly a decade ago. After stints at the Wine Cask and the Hungry Cat, Railsback furthered his exposure to different regions and producers at Osteria Mozza and running the wine program at Gordon Ramsay in Los Angeles.
