Max Mackinnon


Chef Max Mackinnon, 2012 James Beard Awards “Best New Restaurant” Nominee for his Burlington, VT restaurant Pistou, has taken over the kitchen at San Francisco’s Mason Pacific.
Mackinnon was the Chef/Owner of Pistou from 2011-2014, and the restaurant received the Beard Foundation nomination when Mackinnon was just 26 years old. Now 29, Mackinnon has gone on to cook at Restaurant Relae in Copenhagen, Fish and Game in Hudson, New York, and most recently Rose’s Luxury in Washington DC. Mackinnon was a commis in the 2011 Bocuse d’Or competition, assisting Chef James Kent of Eleven Madison Park in his preparation for the “Olympics of cooking” in Lyon, France.
